Herbal Remedies for Carbuncles

A carbuncle is essentially a boil, or infection, that has multiple drainage sites. The infection is usually associated with Staphylococcus aureus, or golden staph.

An herbal program can include immune-stimulating herbs, blood purifying herbs, cold and bitter toxemia-clearing herbs, excess intestinal heat-clearing herbs, and liver cooling herbs. Externally, poultices of flax seed, Balsam of Peru, or fenugreek are useful.
