Homeopathy - Gentle Medicine
Adverse effects from conventional cancer treatment, i.e. chemotherapy, are still very common. Among other more widely known symptoms like vomiting, hair loss and liver damage, chemotherapy drugs can damage the cells of the bone marrow and, along with AIDS treatment drugs, permanently harm the DNA. Potential side effects include mutations, tumors and cancer. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel: homeopathically prepared cancer drugs apparently do not have these risks!
Providing Safer Treatments
In an effort to find safer cancer drugs without these harmful effects, scientists at the Department of Molecular Genetics, at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas in Houston, found just such a safe medicine in a homeopathic remedy called Ruta graveolens1 made from the common herb Rue.
They tried the drug along with another homeopathic remedy made from calcium phosphate (Calcarea phosphorica), for the treatment of brain cancer. Six of seven patients showed complete regression of their glioma tumors. The study’s authors proposed that these medicines could be used as an effective treatment for brain cancers without harming the bone marrow.
Another study conducted in Brazil evaluated the risk of a homeopathic combination drug that has been found effective in the treatment of patients with a variety of cancers and depressed immune system disorders, such as AIDS. The study found no toxic DNA effects from the drug.2
Avoiding Dangerous Side-effects of Pharmaceuticals
In conventional medical practice, some patients have severe allergic reactions to their medications. For example, some patients may go into anaphylactic shock when receiving drugs such as Penicillin or sulpha-drugs. Others develop severe adverse reactions to their drugs that may require them to be treated in the intensive care unit.
It is tragic that more than 200,000 patients die every year in the United States from properly prescribed pharmaceutical drugs. On the upside, many of these patients could be safely treated with homeopathic medicines without the risk of any such side effects.
The Safety of Homeopathic Remedies
But are homeopathic medicines safe for children and pregnant women?
Lisa was in a panic. She had just bought a vial of a homeopathic remedy to treat her toddler Amy’s ear infection. She opened the vial and poured some of the tablets on the table. She went to the sink to get a cup of water. She realized too late that Amy had climbed out of her chair and had swallowed all the tablets. She frantically called the pharmacist where she had bought the remedy. To her relief, the pharmacist assured her the child was not in danger.
Most homeopathic medicines are sold over the counter. These FDA regulated products are so safe that even if a child accidentally swallows a whole vial of one of the medicines, nothing happens, statistically speaking, although the child may feel better afterwards! The adverse reaction reports in countries where homeopathic medicine is widely practiced in and outside of hospitals is zero.
Resonation Between Body and Medicine
One reason why homeopathic treatment is so safe is because it uses extremely small doses of a medicinal substance, rather than potentially toxic doses of chemical drugs. Some homeopathic remedies are so diluted that no material substance remains, but only the “energetic imprint” of the drug onto the water-alcohol solution. One possible mechanism of the medicinal action of homeopathic medicine is a kind of “resonance” between this “imprint frequency” and the resonant frequency of the body – similar to a sound played in a room reverberating from a musical instrument, such as a piano.
Resonant sound can cause powerful effects. For example, it is well known that at certain high pitches, an opera singer can actually shatter a wine glass just by the vibration of her voice! However, where there is no resonance, sound has none of these effects; that same sound would not break a different glass.
Likewise, homeopathic medicines are extremely subtle, but can act powerfully. A drug signal of minute intensity is sufficient to cause a powerful healing response in the body when a resonance amplifies its effect. However, it will affect the body only if a sufficient correspondence exists between the drug and organism.
If there is no match between the patient and the drug, nothing happens. And it’s not the amount taken that makes the remedy work. The remedy must be selected specifically for the patient. When properly selected and given in the minutest dose, the only significant effect a remedy can have is a positive effect!
Homeopathic remedies are safe for children and pregnant women, the elderly and the feeble. When correctly selected, they can be used to treat serious chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Whether treating the common cold or brain cancer, homeopathy is one of the most popular medical treatments in the world because it acts safely, gently and effectively.
