Sweet Cicely Herbal Remedies

Sweet cicely has a sweet flavor similar to anise and is used for indigestion, flatulence, and lack of appetite. The seeds can either be chewed alone or made into an infusion. Related to anise and fennel, with a similar, though milder taste, it is a common wild plant. The green fruits may be eaten along the trail as a refreshing treat, and the roots as a tasty addition to trail teas, or baked or steamed with vegetables and grains as a food. Sweet Cicely has a taste of SWEET, SPICY and a temperature of WARM.
