Alternative Medicine Rescues Menopausal Women from HRT

Lots of information has been reported in the news this year regarding the use of estrogen in the treatment of menopausal symptoms. The Women’s Health Initiative brought to light very concerning statistics about the safety and side effects of hormone replacement therapy (HRT, now called MHT for menopausal hormone therapy). The study found that the risk for heart disease, stroke and breast cancer increased, "in women who had taken a combination of estrogen and progestin for several years. Women who were taking estrogen alone had an increased risk for stroke and blood clots."

With such scary statistics on the table, many women were left wondering where to turn. Alternative medicine to the rescue! Botanical plant products, especially those rich in phytoestrogens have known relief of menopausal symptoms.

Black cohosh, soy and red clover are particular stand outs in the world of natural remedies. Dong quai, ginseng and kava are also noted for relief of uncomfortable symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings and sleep disturbances.

No longer do you have to suffer, or risk serious, sometimes deadly side effects in order to find relief!
