Celebrity Health and Wellness Tips

Dr. Jeffrey Spencer, M.A., D.C. is a Wellness Chiropractor to super-athletes like Tiger Woods. Lance Armstrong credits him in his book, Every Second Counts, as “part doctor, part guru…” Recently Dr. Spencer shared some insider, celebrity tips for health and wellness because, as he explained, "(nobody) in their right mind wants to live an ordinary, boring, and mediocre life when we have the ability to create an extraordinary life experience."

The first order of business of each and every day should be morning stretches suggested Dr. Spencer. “Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong…combine diaphragmatic breathing with movement. Doing this upon rising clears the mind and prepares the body for the day,” he explained.

Water is a healing elixir, and makes up 70 percent of the body. It has an essential role in the way cells communicate to keep the body functioning at optimum levels. "[It] also helps detoxify disease-producing toxins.” He went on to explain that most of us are chronically dehydrated, filling up on coffee and sodas instead of pure H2O.

This wellness doctor to the stars also recommended natural supplements, vitamins and minerals, but not as a replacement for a healthy diet filled with fruits, nuts and veggies.

A holistic wellness program incorporates mental and emotional health into traditional physical well being. Dr. Spencer reported that “that people who use their brains regularly doing mental exercises are more productive than those who do not, and they are less prone to debilitating brain degenerative disease such as Alzheimer’s.” Other recommended practices for maintaining health and wellness included meditation and immediate resolution of anger issues to allow the harmony and free flow of qi.
