Chinese Toxic Herb Now Studied For Arthritis Relief

Lei gong teng, an infamous Chinese herb best known for allegedly killing the king of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shen Nong, is now the focus of some very good news.
A study done at the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in Beijing revealed that in very small, controlled doses, lei gong teng can stop inflammation and the destruction of cartilage for arthritis sufferers.
Other uses modern uses for this herb are to block inflammation of the spinal cord, stop the spread of lupus, kidney inflammation, asthma, tuberculosis of the lungs, and skin-related illnesses, but so far the anti-inflammation study has been the only clinical research completed.
Chinese Medicine News reports that the procedure for proper handling and preparation of this toxic herb is highly complicated and should only be used through a prescribing, licensed practitioner of Oriental Medicine.
