EastWest Med: Biomesotherapy Versus Botulism

For today's potential botox clients, a bunch of tiny “pinprick” needles filled with natural remedies beats one big one filled with botulism.
Originally developed to help athletes or patients cope with various sports injuries, joint or muscular pain, arthritis, or other types of chronic pain, biopuncture, (also known as biomesotherapy), is taking the facial rejuvenation world by storm.
Biomesotherapy is a type of therapy consisting of the use of homeopathic products and the stimulation of specific points of the body with a solution of natural
remedies via injection under the skin. The solution varies depending on the intended result. Most solutions have low concentrations of plant and other natural extracts. It is considered more effective than regular cosmetic acupuncture because it not only stimualtes but it injects these solutions under the skin. As a result, serious side effects are rare or nonexistent, the reason for its being a healthy alternative to any botox injection or surgery.
South Florida's
Dr. Scott Denny, of Integrative Hospital Associates who has been practicing this type of treatment for a variety of conditions, considers this a hybrid of treatments, and his practice as “bridging” medical worlds. As a certified, licensed Acupuncturist and practitioner of Oriental medicine, he says biopuncture also allows the practitioner to eliminate cellulite, boost a sluggish metabolism, all with safe, natural remedies.
And there is no recovery time. Practically the only downside is that it sometimes takes about six to 10 visits to achieve the desired result.
Biomesotherapy has been featured in the news most recently for its effects on aging megastars, such as Madonna, Cher, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Posh Spice from
acupuncture “facelifts.”
