Echinacea Studies Say It Cuts Cold Time in Half

Still sneezing and wheezing through a common cold?

How many more studies do you need to prove to you that echinacea, the most popular herbal supplement in the United States, prevents colds, until you stop torturing yourself?

Apparently reserachers at University of Connecticutt thought you might need just one more.

According to a recent 2007 study by University of Connecticut, the alternative medicine supplement does indeed cut your chances of catching a cold by more than half.

The new study involved infecting subjects with one of the most common cold-producing virus and then treating some with echinacea. It also involved treating patients who had already contracted the common cold with echinacea and it reduced the infection period by one day and a half.
