Healing Rosacea with Herbal Remedies

A new breakthrough has been made in the world of rosacea. For years doctors have not been able to firmly identify what causes the acne like symptoms that plague more than 14 million adults in North America.

But a new study conducted by a team of doctors and scientists from the University of California-San Diego School of Medicine, the Veterans Administrations San Diego Health Care System, Asahikawa Medical College in Japan, France’s University Paul Sabati and the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research has found a definitive answer.

This chronic skin disorder is now believed to be the result of an overproduction of two inflammatory proteins, which in turn creates an excessive level of a third protein that causes rosacea.

Typically conventional, Western doctors prescribe long-term use of antibiotics to help manage the symptoms of rosacea. But alternative medicine experts recommend many natural remedies that offer healing without dangerous side effects.

Based on numerous, varying studies, herbal remedies for rosacea include Chrysanthellum indicum cream, green tea cream, a facial moisturizer containing niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3), a cream derived from barley, wheat and rye called azelaic acid cream, and ingestion of apple cider vinegar.

Though anyone is susceptible, the most common type of sufferers are women or fair-skinned adults between the ages of 30 and 60.
