Holistic Pediatric Training For Health Professionals

The
Holistic Pediatric Association is encouraging parents and practitioners to rethink well-child care.
HPA has been hosting seminars throughout 2007 for allopathic (conventional) and holistic health care professionals on topics such as nutritional counseling, environmental concerns, breastfeeding, neuro-immunology, vaccinations, attachment parenting, injury prevention, developmental assessment, learning styles, and safety, by introducing holistic techniques and styles.
The seminars are part of a larger reach by HPA to create guidelines for allopathic care providers during well-child visits, with a holistic view. HPA wants a better understanding for children to get better preventative care, and enhance parental relationships with multidisciplinary practitioners in the pediatric practice. This research is based on another survey conducted by the UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities and the American Academy of Pediatrics, on 2,000 parents which revelead their unmet needs in general child healthcare.
