Moxibustion Proves Good Medicine

The Henan College of
Traditional Chinese Medicine, located in China, recently conducted a study of acupuncture and moxibution therapies in order to observe their effects in successfully treating chronic atrophic gastritis, a condition common with senior citizens and also found in more than 60 percent of patients who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis.
Chronic atrophic gastritis occurs when the stomach does not produce enough acid on its own in order to kill bacteria, which then lives within the body, causing internal chaos and disorder.
Following two months of
acupuncture and moxibution treatments, significant improvements appeared in the study groups; to the tune of a 66.7 percent success rate.
These successful statistics provide even more evidence in supporting complementary medicine therapies like acupuncture as legitimate options that can be used in conjunction with traditional treatments often associated with conventional, Western techniques here in the States.
