Natural Remedies for Your Pet's Fleas

Recent scares related to the health of our furry friends have many turning to natural foods and alternative medicines when it comes to pet nutrition and safety.

With this in mind, there are many ways to help control a fury of fleas that could take over your four-legged family member’s body, as well as the abode that you call home.

Cedar is a well-known flea and insect repellent. Next time Rover needs a bath, try using a cedar shampoo. Cedar oil in the floor and sleeping mats is also a good idea. Another natural repellent is pennyroyal leaves. Fresh or dried, they can be sprinkled in the carpets and rugs inside your home. *Be careful though if you have small children, because they could be harmful to small humans.*

A lavender oil and rock salt mixture is another natural pet shampoo that works to repel fleas. Adding boiled peels from an orange or lemon to water is another great idea for a natural dog dip.

Dry skin is yummy attraction for the flea, so keep your canine well lubed by mixing Linatone oil in their food.

These natural remedies for your pet’s flea problem work best as a preventative measure versus trying to clean up a moderate to large infestation problem.
