New Award Advances NCCAM Research

The leading institution for American complementary and alternative medicine, NCCAM, recently established a prestigious award to help CAM specialists break down the barriers that sometimes prevent them from serious career research in the field.
With financial support from a Foundation for the National Institutes of Health grant, NCCAM announced The Bernard Osher Foundation/NCCAM CAM Practitioner Research Career Development Award that will sponsor and advance
CAM research science with mentorship and training.
Complementary and alternative medicine clinicians with doctorate degrees can apply for the CAM Practitioner Research Career Development Award in order to pursue further research opportunities in this holistic healing field.
Winners of the esteemed award will have the chance to receive five years of intensive research training in sciences related to biomedical, clinical or behavioral complementary and alternative medicine. Those eligible for the award include specialists with CAM doctoral degrees including a
Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (D.A.O.M.), Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) and
Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D.)
