Paid Acupuncture Fellowship!

Breaking new ground in the world of acupuncture and Oriental medicine education is Northwestern Health Sciences University’s innovative program at the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM).
Their original and groundbreaking program? A paid, postgraduate fellowship for one full year!
Dean of MCAOM, Mark McKenzie, believes that this program of offering a paid acupuncture fellowship is the first program of its kind in acupuncture and Oriental medicine schools in the United States.
Ian Johnson, LAc, MOm, was the first postgraduate acupuncturist selected to participate in the program last November. It is a perfect opportunity for a licensed acupuncturist to gain postgraduate experience in a traditional hospital environment.
Students and specialists at MCAOM hope that this pioneering program can act as a leader and that other acupuncture and Oriental medical schools will follow in their footsteps. Dr. McKenzie explained that it is also part of a “strategic plan to provide more opportunities to our graduates and to diversify where they can practice.”
