Tai Chi Master Faster Than a Lamborghini

Tai Chi master Chen Xiang is actually documented to be faster than a Lamborghini.

A springtime visit to see Jessica Rose, an orthopedic surgery professor at Stanford, showed that at full force Xiang’s strike is equal to 400 pounds of force accelerating from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

The ancient movement technique of Tai Chi is often thought of as beautiful, slow and graceful. S.L. Wykes explained in the San Jose Mercury News Tai Chi’s martial arts philosophy of “cultivating the mind, learning to discard everything except the thought of moving energy within the body, to nourish it and bring it to full health and, if necessary, to defend it…the aim is always to keep the joints relaxed to allow a free flow of chi.”

Tai Chi Master Xiang’s demonstration at Motion and Gait Analysis Laboratory at Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital, proved in exciting action the law of motion: force equals mass times acceleration. Tai Chi masters are renowned for their incredible understanding and power to turn mass into force.
