Tea Study Shows It Helps Prevent Skin Cancer

A recent BBC article says that drinking one or more cups of tea a day can cut skin cancer risk by 30 %.

The study was based on the consumption of either green or black teas. Both kinds of tea are rich in antioxidants which have been shown to prevent the development of cancer cells. Those who drank two or more cups a day had a 65% lower risk of developing skin cancer, and other types of cancer in general.

These teas contain the anti-oxidant EGCG (green tea has the most, the herbals and black teas have the least) that provides protection. So we get to combine a cure for a stressful day with an alternative skin protector.

Featured in Food & Wine and U.S. News and World report as an innovative new tea company, Mighty Leaf Tea are wide, hand-sewn bags of tea that are as aromatic as they are over-stuffed with leaves. Organic Black Iced Tea is one of their most popular.

Or blend your own with a "pyramid tea bag", which is large anough to accomodate large leaf tea.

Either way, make 4 p.m. count for health, too, on this side of the Atlantic.
