For years folks have known that tumeric, the main ingredient in curry, contains curcuminoid, a property known to help sufferers of arthritis. But according to a recent study at The University of Arizona College of Medicine, it has been isolated even further in a lab, tested and shown it can actually help prevent many diseases involving inflammation of joints and muscles.

Until now, the whole root of tumeric had been used in alternative medicine to inhibit rheumatoid athritis from manifesting itself in joints. Scientists at University of Arizona College of Medicine isolated the key component in tumeric's chemical composition that is the operative factor. Further reserach also pointed at its effective use in combating or preventing asthma, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, and inflammatory bowel disease, among many others.
