Vitamin C for Better Knees

Vitamin C is working its holistic healing wonders again, this time aiming its
antioxidant powers on arthritic knees.
Monash University in Melbourne conducted the research that studied vitamin C levels in middle-aged adults over the course of ten years. The findings, reported in the online journal, Arthritis Research & Therapy, showed that, “the higher a person's dietary levels of vitamin C at the start of the study, the lower the risk of certain bone changes 10 years on. The same was true when the researchers looked at overall consumption of fruit, a prime source of vitamin C."
In addition to vitamin C, other means of increasing cartilage health in the knees include certain carotenoids found in green, leafy veggies.
This is exciting news in the promotion of healing your body through proper nutrition and a healthy diet. Vitamin C and other antioxidants protect your body’s cells from accumulating oxidative damage, which has been shown to play a role in osteoarthritis.”
