aquatic therapy information

Aquatic Therapy, or Pool Therapy, is a form of physical therapy that utilizes the benefits of water to assist in performing therapeutic exercises. Exercising in water provides additional buoyancy to support the body weight of the patient to lessen the physical strain of exercise on the joints.  Aquatic Therapy can be especially beneficial to patients with fractures, arthritis, or obesity conditions, as it allows therapeutic exercise with re-injuring the joints.  Warm water temperatures also assist with increased muscle relaxation and improved blood flow through the body.
