audiology information

Audiology is the study of hearing and balance.  Specialists of Audiology are called Audiologists, and they possess either a Masters of Doctoral degree in the study of Audiology from an accredited university graduate program.  Audiologists utilize a variety of tests to determine if any hearing or balancing disorders exist in a patient, and then provide recommendations for such conditions.  Audiologists often dispense and fit hearing aids to correct auditory dysfunctions.  In cases of serious disorders, Audiologists will refer patients to Medical Doctors for further examination or surgical procedures.
