auditory integration training information

Auditory Integration Training – sometimes called AIT – is a form of healing that is focused on auditory processing disorders.   Auditory Integration Training is called an intervention technique that may help a person make the most use of his or her residual hearing, and so improve the ability to understand speech and sounds in the environment.  While a bit controversial by some members of the conventional medical establishment, Auditory Integration Training tries to heal sensory conditions like distortions in hearing, hyper-acute hearing, and sensory processing anomalies, which are said to cause discomfort and confusion in persons suffering from learning disabilities.  It is believed that these sensory anomalies can interfere with a child’s attention, comprehension, and ability to learn.
