chinese medicine information

In the 1950’s with the rise of Communism, Chairman Mao instituted the formulized development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from the knowledge of the remaining traditional doctors in China.  TCM combined Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Tui Na Massage, Gua Sha, Cupping, and other traditional medicine techniques into one system. TCM education was also modernized into a curriculum that included western medicine and was formally integrated into China’s hospital care system.   This style of acupuncture is taught in most US Acupuncture schools and possesses a large amount of clinical research from China supporting its methodology.   It is the most common form of Acupuncture practiced today.
