colloidal silver therapy information

Colloidal Silver Therapy is a controversial treatment which in the past was widely used by mainstream doctors as an antibiotic.  Colloidal Silver products were then made by companies in the mainstream pharmaceutical industry and were eventually replaced by fast-acting, less-expensive sulfa drugs and penicillin. Silver nitrate solutions are still used today in neonatal units to protect newborn infant's eyes from infection and silver-based cremes have been used in burn centers for over 100 years.  Long-term Colloidal Silver intake may produce a rare but harmful condition called Argyria.  While there are many proponents of Colloidal Silver Therapy today, there are also many who watrn against its use.  Like all controversial treatment regimens, consult your primary care physician before taking any medication, especially for non-approved indications.
