While it varies by practitioner, in general, Holistic dentists promote that people can care for their teeth and whole self by eating nutrient rich whole foods that are properly grown and prepared.  Many Holistic Dentistry practitioners suggest that people stay away from root canals and that mercury fillings should not be used and possibly removed if present.  Also, some proponents of Holistic Dentistry feel that Orthodontics should include measures to widen the palate.
