Hydrotherapy, also known as Hydropathy, describes the use of water for soothing pains and treating diseases.  Hydrotherapy is another healing approach from ancient times used in the modern world as it has been long accepted that water is helpful to increase circulation, in rheumatic diseases, and in musculoskeletal conditions.  Hydrotherapy may also include the addition of salts or essential oils to the water.  Immersion in water and doing exercises in water are also popular for fitness today.  Hydrotherapy is now a well accepted form of treatment for a variety of medical conditions with numerous articles in scientific and medical journals defining its efficacy.
