iridology information
Iridology is a specific alternative medical technique focused on the iris of the eye. Practitioners – called Iridologists – look for patterns, colors, and other characteristics of the iris to make a diagnosis about an individual’s health and wellness. This so called iridodiagnosis is based on the specialists’ physical observations and then matching them to iris charts. In Iridology, the charts show various zones in the iris which correspond to specific parts of the human body. Proponents claim that this approach allows them to measure the health and wellness of organs and other health systems throughout the body. The specialist uses this data to identify a patient’s susceptibility towards certain illnesses, to reflect past medical issues or to predict health problems which may be underway. Practitioners of Iridology are often trained in other alternative modalities and use Iridology as one of many diagnoses tools at their disposal.
