tai chi chuan information

Tai Chi, also known as Tai Chi Chuan or Supreme Ultimate Boxing, is a form of Chinese training that combines exercise, moving meditation, and martial arts.  Tai Chi has been increasing in popularity recently due to positive medical research demonstrating the health benefits of Tai Chi for various conditions, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, High Blood Pressure, and Shingles.  Tai Chi is a safe and low-impact exercise that can improve your cardiovascular and immune systems and increases your strength and flexibility.  From a martial arts perspective, Tai Chi focuses on the development of soft internal energy verse hard physical strength to overcome an opponent.  Traditionally Tai Chi, like many Chinese martial arts, was only taught to a teacher’s direct descendents.  This led to the development of several family styles.  Each of these styles maintains the same fundamental concepts of Tai Chi; however, they each interpret these concepts differently.
