yoga information

Yoga is a system of ancient spiritual practices originating in India.  Yoga is very much a philosophy as well as a mind-body technique.  As a general concept in Hinduism, Yoga has been defined as "technologies or disciplines of asceticism and meditation which are thought to lead to spiritual experience and profound understanding or insight into the nature of existence."  There are a number of branches of Yoga, and they all have in common the union of a person's own consciousness and the universal consciousness.  Worldwide and throughout the United States, the practice of Yoga abounds.  Devotees of Yoga employ breathing techniques to ready themselves for expanded consciousness.  It is believed that the exercises practiced in Yoga improve circulation and stimulate natural processes in the body which can generally improve the health, wellness and mental state of the Yoga enthusiast.
