alexander technique information
The Alexander technique is often described as a way of personally learning how you can get rid of harmful tension in your body. F. Matthias Alexander who died in 1955 was a Shakespearian orator and actor who discovered and developed the technique over eight years based on his own personal experience of losing his voice. The approach to overcoming this problem – called The Alexander Technique – is a method of “unlearning” that works to change an individual’s movement habits in everyday living, improving the ease and freedom of movement, balance, support and coordination. Experts in the Alexander Technique cite that it is not a series of treatments or exercises, but rather a reeducation of the mind and body and helps one discover a new balance that releases tension that can be applied to sitting, lying down, standing, walking, lifting, and other daily activities.
The Alexander Technique is a method that teaches people how to sit, stand and go about their daily activities without unnecessary tension.
