Laser Therapy, also know as Photobiomodulation, Cold Laser Therapy, and Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), is a form of bio-stimulation where exposure to low-level laser light can alter cellular functioning. It is being used for a variety of including wound healing, chronic pain, and nerve regeneration. Laser Therapy is also being employed by Acupuncturists to provide stimulation of acupuncture points instead of needles; this technique is popular for ear acupuncture treatments for addiction. There are a variety of techniques and settings used with the lasers, varying the wavelength, power, and dose, to achieve the desired results.
