What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
At Arizona Colon Hydrotherapy & Detox Spa, we use a colon irrigation device that is gravity fed.  A gentle flow of purified, UV filtered, temperature-controlled water will enter your colon.  The water will then gently circulate throughout the digestive system, assisting your body to naturally release the digested toxins, impurities and waste that may have built up in your system over time.

Do you have qualified therapists?
Arizona Colon Hydrotherapy & Detox Spa has a staff of Qualified and Certified Colon Hydrotherapists to assist our clients.  Our Colon Hydrotherapists are also certified through I-ACT (International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy) at the Advanced Level (highest level) and are National Board Certified.

What type of Colon Hydrotherapy method do you use?
Arizona Colon Hydrotherapy & Detox Spa uses an FDA approved Colon Hydrotherapy devices with sanitary, disposable nozzles.  The devices are an open system which aides in the elimination of odors and retains client privacy.  Our devices are gravity-fed using purified, filtered, temperature-controlled water.

Why should I consider Colon Hydrotherapy?
When the daily routines and modern-day diets overwhelm us, the colon can become the depository of accumulated toxins, which over time may disable the body’s purification system.   These toxins could end up either re-entering our body’s blood stream or getting deposited in our cells, as opposed to passing through the digestive system and leaving our bodies.

Why is Colon Hydrotherapy important?
Over time our bodies can build up toxins, impurities and waste.  Some of the adverse symptoms of an impacted colon can make us feel sluggish, bloated, and lethargic and could cause headaches or unclear thinking. Once the impacted fecal waste is loosen and released, your colon can once again function properly.

Why not just take laxatives?
Suppositories and/or laxatives may provide temporary relief of constipation. However, laxatives could also cause severe abdominal pain. Over time these products could result in involuntary spasmodic gastrointestinal release, bloating and possible dehydration.   Repeated use of laxatives could lead you to eventually lose control of your rectal muscles.

What is the difference between an enema and Colon Hydrotherapy?
Enemas are useful for emptying the rectum, which is normally the lower 8 to 12 inches of the colon. Enemas usually use only one to two quarts of water. Colon hydrotherapy will allow purified, filtered, temperature-controlled water to soften and assist in releasing impurities and waste material from your large intestine, which usually measures approximately 5 feet.

Why should I be concerned about my colon?
The colon has long been referred to as the body’s sewer system.  Waste removal typically takes place in the colon, provided that your colon is functioning properly.  If your colon is neglected, waste could build up and become stagnate causing bloating, constipation, and even perhaps causing headaches or unclear thinking.

How long has Colon Hydrotherapy been used?
The first recorded reference to colon cleansing dates back more than 3000 years.  In both the Ebers Papyrus, an Egyptian medical document, dated around 14th century B.C. and in the Edwin Smith Papyrus (c. 1700 B.C.), there is direct references made to colon cleansing practices.

What can cause constipation?
Constipation could be caused by not drinking enough water.  Drinking too much soda, alcohol, or coffee is all dehydrating to the body. Not eating enough of the vegetables and fruits that contain the fiber you need to stimulate the digestive tract. Constipation can also cause you to strain which causes hemorrhoids, which alone is very painful.

What other organs can benefit from Colon Hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy can stimulate reflex points.  Every system and organ of the body is connected to the colon by reflex points.  A Colon Hydrotherapy session can stimulate these points, thereby affecting the corresponding body parts in a beneficial way.

Is there anyone who should not do a Colon Hydrotherapy session?
Colon Hydrotherapy should not be used by people with diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, severe or internal hemorrhoids or tumors in the rectum or colon.  It also should not be used shortly after bowel surgery, or those with heart disease or kidney disease.  People with bowel, rectal or anal pathologies are REQUIRED to get a physician’s approval before having a Colon Hydrotherapy session.

What does a Colon Hydrotherapy session feel like?
Experiences will differ from person to person.  Most people will have a comfortable session.  The method of colon cleansing that Arizona Colon Hydrotherapy uses is safe and does not produce toxicity.  Our technique allows a gentle flow of gravity-fed purified, filtered, temperature-controlled water to enter your colon.  This process will stimulate the colon’s natural peristaltic movement to release the softened waste and any toxins.  This process will be repeated several times throughout your session.  During your session you can leave most of your clothing on.  You will be draped with a sheet, to ensure modesty.  Your dignity will always be maintained with Arizona Colon Hydrotherapy & Detox Spa.

Is Colon Hydrotherapy sanitary?

Arizona Colon Hydrotherapy & Detox Spa uses Colon Hydrotherapy equipment that is manufactured with strict FDA guidelines.  The FDA-registered equipment features a water sanitizing and purification unit, temperature sensors and back flow prevention valves.  Arizona Colon Hydrotherapy & Detox Spa uses only disposable single-use rectal tubes.

How often can I have a Colon Hydrotherapy session?
We recommend your first two (2) sessions be done back to back (or as close together as possible).  We recommend anywhere from 5 to 12 sessions in the beginning.  After your initial sessions, we do recommend you maintain a monthly schedule for your Colon Hydrotherapy sessions.
