TECHNIQUES AND TREATMENT
Manual therapy is a hands on approach to assessment and treatment of certain kinds of physical conditions. It may include specific techniques such as stretching, therapeutic massage, joint mobilization, neuromuscular re-education and myofascial release. The goal of manual physical therapy is to reduce pain and restore movement to allow maximum function.

MOVEMENT RE-EDUCATION TRAINING:
Feldenkrais ® Method
Through a guided series of slow, gentle movements, participants develop a heightened sense of their own physical restrictions and become aware of new, more useful movement patterns. Feldenkrais ® is taught with two modalities: verbally-coached Awareness Through Movement ® group classes or an individual “hands on” session with a certified practitioner. The education to become a practitioner requires 800-1000 hours of instruction over a three to four year period by a guild certified educational curriculum.
CONDITIONING AND CORE STRENGTHENING:
Pilates Integrated Rehabilitation
Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement that combines stretching and strengthening to elongate musculature, as well as improve overall balance. Pilates combines yoga’s control of movement with weight lifting’s muscle engagement to sharpen the body’s kinesthetic awareness and increase strength. Focusing on activating the core (abdominals, back, and torso) especially following an injury is essential to allow one to return to activities without risk of re-injury.
Yoga Integrated Rehabilitation
Yoga means union and incorporating yoga into therapy allows for a powerful connection to yourself. Yoga can be a tool for you to use to incorporate a full body approach utilizing mindfulness, breath and relaxation. It takes minimal if no equipment and can be practiced in a small area. CCPT incorporates these ideas into the individualized treatment program designed to enhance overall function.
In addition to strengthening and movement re-education, Physical Therapy incorporates exercises to stimulate and assist balance, coordination and functional skills.
PHYSICAL THERAPY is a form of health care that reduces pain, restores movement and educates to help prevent future problems. Based on a thorough evaluation and an individualized treatment program, physical therapists correct and educate patients with existing problems and provide preventive health care for people with a variety of needs.
Century City Physical Therapy draws from an eclectic source of services to provide the highest quality of care.
