Welcome to the February 2009 edition of the Exceptional Living e-Zine.
OK, so the Groundhog saw his shadow and we've got another 6 weeks of winter. But as we dread the extension of the mid-winter blues (this barely applies to us Floridians most of whom enjoy this much needed respite from sub-tropical temps) one thing we forget: after the groundhog comes out and sees his shadow, he goes right back into his hole. Aha! Smart guy that one.
The outside world is ever changing, full of illusions and dreams and so perhaps it is from within that we can tap into our best source for true wisdom. We have an inner guidance system that some of us only subconsciously access; inner wisdom, holy spirit, higher intelligence, subconscious mind, or whatever you want to call it. This knowledge will always guide us to where we want to go in the quickest, easiest and shortest route. All we have to do is be quiet long enough to hear it and then act on what we hear.
So, if we take a lesson from nature, maybe an extended winter means the seasons are only cooperating with our need to go within and continue to get our house in order. After all, one thing we know for sure is that the new growth of spring follows the winter just as surely as night follows day. Maybe we should enjoy this time of restriction, get comfy with ourselves, give in to our own concerns, surrender to peace and know that we'll soon be coming out, rested and ready for a great new year of Exceptional Living!

EXPLORING YOUR STRENGTHS
One of the keys to moving ahead in life, to become more successful, is to explore your strengths on a regular basis. It's a process that will boost your sense of self, your self esteem, and your level of confidence in life.
In Level 1 of my Life Mastery/Life Coach workshop, I ask the participants to list all of their strengths in life, the qualities that they carry that they know are advantageous to their existence.
For some it might be their ability to listen, or compassion, or athletic abilities, or creativity, spirituality, or their talent to make money or friends.
Since whatever we focus on grows, it is an incredibly important step to focus on what is working well for us in life.
