This morning began with 16 ounces of water; about an hour later I drank 16 ounces of unfiltered, organic apple juice. Ninety minutes later I drank the last 16 ounces of apple juice. My stomach felt fine so maybe the water before the juice is the key. It helped to dilute the acid already present in my stomach before I added the acidic juice.
For breakfast I ate the recommended oatmeal; a nice big bowl that would stick with me for awhile. I continued to drink lots of water throughout the day, I was feeling a little hungry in the evening, but it was tolerable.
At six o’clock I made and drank the first serving of Epsom salt water. Within one hour I felt the urge to have a bowel movement. It was normal in consistency, then the next one was more lose and watery. I experienced 6 to 8 more watery bowel movements over the course of the next 2.5 hours.
Next, I did my nightly routine so that I could just relax after drinking the olive oil and grapefruit juice. I must confess that I was NOT looking forward to the taste and feel of this mixture in my mouth! Making sure I was prepared, I squeezed and strained the grapefruit. Ten o’clock quickly approached and I mentally prepared to drink this lovely concoction. Honestly, it wasn’t what I had expected. The book describes it in a fashion that made me worried. It suggested drinking it through a straw and holding your nose. I poured the two ingredients together, closed the lid, shook it very well, and drank it down. It was all gone in under a minute. Yes, it was a little oily, but not at all what I had expected. After finishing it I brushed my teeth and relaxed on the couch.
So far, as I lie here and write this, I’m feeling fine. No nausea at all and I’m looking forward to seeing what my body is going to release tomorrow.
Good night.
