5 Musts To Attract Paying Clients From Lectures
|
|
Did your last lecture or workshop tank?
Are you terrified of giving talks?
Public
speaking is among the top 3 biggest fears of all Americans! (Right up
there next to the fear of dying and the fear of snakes.)
I too was scared stiff of getting in front of an audience. Panic. Fear. Sweaty distress.
What
if they don't like me? What if I draw a complete blank and forget what
I was talking about? What if someone asks a question I don't know?
Here are some tips to stop bombing and start speaking successfully.
1. Be prepared. Do you have a strategy for getting to know your facts? Do you anticipate questions that your audience will ask?
2. Get good at telling YOUR story. Stop using someone else's story. Your
audience wants to connect with YOU! If you don't think you have any
interesting personal stories to tell, you're not looking deep enough.
3. Speak with passion! "Flat" delivery will induce a snooze. If they snooze, you lose.
4. Watch your time. Keep your presentation moving.
5. Have a clear call-to-action. How is your audience supposed to sign up
for your program if you don't tell them it's available? Create a clear,
concise risk-free compelling offer. This could be an initial
consultation for example. (Most coaches know they "should" do this but
often run out of time or chicken out for fear of feeling pushy.)
Want
to know the formula I use? In my first year I built most of my practice
on public speaking and referrals. (Went from 0-70+ clients in just 12
months.)
Join me on November 10 and I'll show you how to stop sweating and start smiling when you go to prep your next talk.
