Two weeks ago I was faced with the greatest challenge of my life: giving birth to my daughter.
Skyla Zoe Kellett was born on February 8, 2010 at home.
For 9 months I couldn't wait to
hold my baby girl. I was even looking forward to the birth itself-- the ritual rite of passage from a maiden to mama. (Maybe I would be one of those women who had an orgasmic birth!)
When the time came to push her out I was terrified. "I can't do this."
Desperate
for options, I begged the midwives to tell me another way... maybe we
could just send her back? How about I NOT have this baby?
Of course, sending her "back" was not an option. (Rationality does not exist to a delirious laboring woman.)
They told me I had to push MUCH harder. But I already thought I was
pushing as hard as I could! Suddenly, something so deep inside me came
alive. It was a force, an inner strength that I never knew existed. All
women have it. YOU have this force.
And the beauty is... this inner force is available to you at any time--even if you've never actually birthed a human.
So... there's two insights I learned during the birthing process that I'd like to pass on to you:
1. "I can't do this" really means "I can't do this by myself."
YOUR ACTION: Get
support. Invest in a good mentor. Who's energy inspires you? Who
challenges you to get outside your comfort zone? Who teaches what you
need to learn?

2. No matter how scared you are, you are capable of SO much more than you think.
YOUR ACTION:
Write down 3 bold actions that you are afraid to do in your business
that could deliver significant results. Commit to following through on
ONE of those actions THIS WEEK. Hurry, do it, before you talk yourself
out of it.
