Recently I read an article about floating that made a great comment about sensory deprivation in a tank was really not sensory deprivation but sensory enhancement because of the absence of stimulus. When people float there senses are increased to a level that many have not felt since their youth. Some even become aware of things that have gone unnoticed for years such as smells and tastes that have faded over the years.
Floating raises levels of awareness in a manner that cannot be explained. It gives the mind/body connection a whole new meaning.
My chiropractor friend Dr. Todd Plutchok once explained "Floating is like resetting your bodies autonomic nervous system so it can heal". This occurs because of the zero gravity experience that happens while floating.
