The wonderful tool of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) employs gentle tapping on meridian points with your finger tips while having a conversation about whatever is distressing you.
Some of my most profound EFT sessions have been a result of working with clients that have onvgoing stress and anxiety.
To give you an idea of how useful EFT can be at such a time, imagine how powerful it would be to have the power to suspend fear and anxiety, to embrace new ideas and beliefs and ultimately to find peace and acceptance all within minutes, no drugs, no needles, no side effects. Well, unless you consider peace a side effect!
Let me introduce you to a simple example of an EFT script.
We always begin by gently looking at the challenge, problem or fearful thing...
Read this aloud with me:
Even though, I may be feeling afraid of this “problem”. (Feel free to insert your descriptive word. )
I deeply and completely, love and accept myself- even with this fear.
Again...
Even though, I may be feeling afraid of this “challenge or memory”;
I deeply and completely, love and accept myself and I realize that I must have some
belief or judgment around this thing that is creating fear.
Again...
Even though, I am feeling afraid, at the mere thought of this “memory, problem or challenge”; I can see clearly that these are just thoughts... and these are just feelings and neither are real because things that are real don't shift and change like this.
Then you would say something to anchor the new found peace.....
I am free to choose to observe these thoughts and feelings.
I am not married to them.
They will certainly be fleeting and change in time.
Releasing the feeling that these thoughts are the ultimate truth....
The idea that I am stuck with them forever....
That whatever I am worrying about will last forever…
I am so happy to finally understand that - this too shall pass.
