Learn How to Manage Your Own Health and Create Your Own Personalized Health Care Plan

As a clinical supervisor and physician at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, I help patients understand how much control they have over their own health and well-being. Patients need to understand that true wellness requires them to take personal responsibility for their body, mind and spirit.

One of my most important roles is to teach patients how to do this. I love working with patients to figure out what is making them feel unwell and watching them improve as they learn to manage their health.

I have been involved with so many successful treatments. Once, I saw a registered nurse with high blood pressure who didn’t want to take pharmaceutical medications. We treated her condition with lifestyle changes and other natural means. Today, at age 71, she remains off the medications. Another patient with endometriosis was told that she would never have children; she became pregnant after six months of treatment at Bastyr Center.

Bastyr Center is unique because it is a teaching clinic, which means patients are in a situation where multiple practitioners listen enthusiastically, treat them with TLC and provide leading-edge health care. Because we use a naturopathic approach, practitioners consider the whole person in their treatment plans. The goal of treatment is to promote the body’s ability to heal itself, instead of suppressing symptoms. Patients can choose from multiple treatment approaches and create their own personalized health care plans.
