In Chinese Medicine we look at the complexion coloring and markings on various parts of the face to show the state of health of the different organs. For example a person with a red complexion probobly has an internal heat condition such as a fever or possibily a heart disorder.
The Chinese have taken the process of examining the face beyond just indications of health and disease with an art/science known as face reading. In face reading the personality, character, history and destiny of a person can be seen. Face reading will include an overall reading of the health and vitality of a person's constitution and spirit as well as which element type the person is. For example, a water person will have a rounded forehead and prominent chin and like to be independent as well delve the mysteries of life with his or her tenacious will. The reader will then go on to look at the individual features and determine their meaning. For example, someone with prominent eyebrows will have a lot of passion, temper and confidence. If the eyebrows have been excessively plucked perhaps a person is trying to supress her anger.
I like Chinese Face reading because it can give meaning and acceptance to things like wrinkles that tend to be rejected in our society. Wrinkles show the emotions a person has felt and are badges from the life experiences they have lived.
