Having worked with hundreds of clients who have weight concerns, it always amazes me to have the client realize that it is not always about the food. It may be stress, it may be hormonal, it may be poor sleeping habits, it may be adrenal fatigue, inflammation or neurotransmitter imbalance or poor digestion. The bottom line is that everyone has there own personal reasons for hanging on to those extra pounds. If you are eating a well balanced diet (and what exactly is that?) and exercising regularly, then maybe you may want to explore other avenues to weight loss. Diets are not for everyone- actually they are for very few. The body hangs on to weight for a lot of reasons- one is for personal survival. If you have a lot of stress in your life, all the body recognizes is that it is constantly under fire and it needs to retain energy (fat) for homeostasis. Some relaxation techniques along with an apple may go a long way.
Making a plan to meet with a holistic nutritionist or coach- makes sense. Looking at the big picture of your life creates the balance needed for the body to shift out of threat, or other, to help you obtain the self you choose to be. If you feel you are lacking balance and something is blocking your inner awareness toward a healthier you contact Mary Grazen-Browne MEd.
