What is Natural Healing?

The best way to define it is to compare this way of healing to what it is not.

First and foremost, Natural Healing is not a form of conventional medicine. The latter focuses on diagnosing and “curing” disease within a patient while the former utilizes the body’s own natural processes to cleanse, nourish and then, naturally, eliminate the disease. Conventional medicine works on the belief that matter is influenced by other matter – and nothing that cannot be observed and tested using their “scientific” methods, either exists or has any true value whatsoever in the healing process. Everything from the human soul, Ki (life force energy) to how a person views themselves has any place in the strict dogma of modern medicine.

Simply pointing out this reductionist bend in allopathic (conventional) medicine, should in of itself, not be misconstrued as a false generalized assumption that all practitioners of this sort actually believe in this essential materialistic element of modern medicine – for many practitioners, in fact, are not so closed minded. However, all medical doctors do believe that their prescribed “medicines” (physical matter) will “cure” diseases in the patients (other physical matter) that they prescribe them to. This preoccupation with physical matter explains the rather unhealthy obsession with the “scientific method” as the only reliable test for medical efficacy – despite its many, and well documented failures (Vioxx, Celebrex, Ortho Evera ext). Natural Healing, on the other hand, is not constrained by such inflexible beliefs or systemic oversimplifications that inevitably lead to unnecessary patient suffering.

As a further resulting conundrum from the reductionist beliefs within allopathic medicine, diseases are never truly cured – or even correctly defined. The reason for this is that disease is not physical matter gone awry as allopathic medicine would have us believe; rather, most disease(s) is/are the natural ways our bodies tell us that we are living in such a way that will eventually kill us – it is an evolutionarily endowed alarm. Simply put, a disease is a symptom – nothing more. Curing a disease, without changing the underlying cause for the appearance of the disease is like taking the battery out of a fire alarm in a burning house – yes, the annoyance is gone, but the real problem still very much exists.

In Natural Healing the “healing” is done by the body of the afflicted – it is that simple. The true “healer” is the person who is taking responsibility for their own physical/mental/spiritual conditions and is taking the correct steps toward good health. Therefore, according to Natural Healing, the disease that afflicts an individual is not cured by the medicine of a physician, but rather by adopting a life sustaining and health building way of living so that the same body that created the disease, can and will reverse and cure the disease.

Conventional medicine is not Natural Healing.
