WHAT IS A HABIT?

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

When some think of habits, many think of negative things like smoking, or annoying little things that friends or co-workers may do. But habits can be quite positive, and we should focus more on our healthy habits.

After all, if we give something the status of a habit, we automatically associate it with something we do quite frequently. Some even go so far as to give a habit greater power than their own will. Can you name 5 healthy habits you personally have? You should have a list of things you do regularly that create better health in your body, and go ahead and give them the status of habit.

After all, a habit is hard to change, right? A habit is something we do almost automatically, right? Make the concept of habit a positive association. Use the power of habit to your advantage.

Want some examples? Try these.

“I eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.”

“I drink more clean water than all my other liquids combined.”

“I exercise to the point of sweating every day.”

“I get adjusted monthly so my nerve system can properly control and adapt my body.”

“I strengthen my brain by learning something new every day.”

“I exercise my creativity by writing down my thoughts every day.”

Work on your own positive habits and let them automatically create better health for you.
