What are the differences between Natural and synthetic hormones? It's a question often asked by patients that are having hormone related issues. Here's a brief overview;
Bioequivalent Natural Hormone Replacement
Therapy (BNHRT) is the use of hormones which have been derived from soy and wild
yam and concentrated into a pharmaceutical dose. BNHRT mimics the natural
production of women’s estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Humans
make only three kinds of estrogens: Estrone, Estradiol and Estriol. Synthetic
estrogen is made from pregnant horse urine and contains 21 different estrogen
metabolites. BNHRT provides only those hormones that our bodies naturally
make. Also, BNHRT prescriptions can be formulated to exactly what each
woman needs. At Restorative Health we obtain a detailed medical history
and symptom survey as well as appropriate laboratory and diagnostic
studies prior to preseribing any form of hormonal therapy. BNHRT most
commonly is administered orally, by cream or sublingual. Many women
are using BNHRT with positive results and fewer, if any, side effects
than synthetic hormone replacement. For more information on women's health issues visit us at Restorative Health
