Riki Alexander
For over 30 years, Riki has been exploring the fascinating world of creative expression, movement and health. In addition to being a senior Alexander teacher with close to 30 years experience, she is an RSMT (Registered Somatic Movement Therapist) and an SEP, (Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Peter Levine's therapy for trauma resolution.) Riki weaves other modalities, such as Arnold Mindell's Process Work and Authentic Movement, into her practice.
Professional affiliations include AmSAT (American Society of Teachers of Alexander Technique); FHE (The Foundation for Human Enrichment); DC Area Guild of Body Psychotherapists; ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Education & Therapy Association); and USABP (US Association for Body Psychotherapy.) Recent group teaching venues include: Psychotherapy Networker Symposium and the Washington National Cathedral's Sacred Circles Conference.
Riki's greatest joy lies in creating a safe and nurturing environment which allows each person's unique process to unfold. She respects and trusts the creative self-regulation of every nervous system to proceed along its own healing course.
