About Roslyn Franken
Roslyn Franken is the founder of Roslyn Franken Group, a company dedicated to helping people reach and maintain a healthyweight, balanced lifestyle and positive life outlook.
Roslyn Franken was born in Montreal to a mother who survived the concentration camps of Nazi Germany and a father who survived the Japanese slave labour camps as a Prisoner of War.
Diagnosed with cancer at age 29, Roslyn quickly learned that she inherited her parents' “survivor” gene as she fought back to become herself a long-term cancer survivor.
The experience provoked her return to school (Masters in Human Systems Intervention from Concordia University in Montreal and certification through the Professional School of Psychology in California) and inspired a career as a counselor, personal coach and motivational speaker.
The cancer experience also taught her what it means to lose your health. She knows how difficult a fight it is to stay positive when life is throwing you those unexpected curve balls. She knows what it takes to bounce back, stay focused and on track.
As she approached 40, Roslyn's personal struggles with food and weight issues led to the creation of the techniques that changed her life. By putting the principles into practice, she reached and maintains her current, healthy weight.
Roslyn now primarily counsels clients who want to change their lives for the better through weight and lifestyle management, using the principles she developed and now shares in her book The A List: 9 Guiding Principles for Healthy Eating and Positive Living.
Roslyn is happily married to Elliott Smith, a professional magician, and enjoys portraiture, the healing arts, cooking and song writing.
As a subject matter expert Roslyn is often called upon as a guest on television and radio as well as to contribute articles and columns to newspapers and magazines. Roslyn regularly gives back to the community through donations of her book and services.
