(Newport Beach, California) HypnoThoughts.com, a free social network for hypnotherapists, hypnotists, NLP practitioners and stage hypnosis performers, welcomed its 5,000th member on November 19, 2009. Founded by southern California hypnotherapist Scott Sandland, the social network is now eight times larger than the next-largest online community in the hypnosis and NLP niche. HypnoThoughts.com has over 1,000 unique visitors a day, spending an average of nine minutes on the site. All told, the hypnosis social network attracts as over 30,000 visitors a month.

HypnoThoughts.com offers members a lively discussion forum with nearly 4,000 discussion threads, free blogs, and over 200 special interest groups for everything from sports hypnosis, alternative medical, health and wellness practitioners, to erotic hypnosis, street hypnosis and more. Since its launch in 2007, HypnoThoughts.com members have posted over 1,250 hypnosis and NLP videos, hundreds of free hypnosis scripts, thousands of photos and over 1,700 blog posts.

"As a relative newcomer to hypnosis, I want to thank Scott Sandland for creating a place where practitioners of all levels can share and learn," said certified master hypnotist Jackie Spencer of Moorpark, California. The new HypnoThoughts.com member continued, "Reading the posts of people who are respected by my teachers and whom I barely know by reputation leaves me more than a little star-struck…I've never before been such a fan of the internet."

Another HypnoThoughts.com member from Germany calls the social network "one of the most valuable sites in the internet for hypotists and everyone who is interested in the art of hypnosis." Andreas Tenhagen, a hypnotherapist in Klettgau, said "HypnoThoughts.com unites hypnotists all over the world...everyone is welcome. Most valuable is to get different insights of some case histories, interesting scripts…and to learn from the big names of hypnosis."

Although most of its members are in the United States, HypnoThoughts.com attracts hundreds of hypnotherapists and hypnotists from the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Cynthia Cameron, a clinical hypnotherapist in Emerald Beach, New South Wales, notes that "HypnoThoughts.com brings the entire global hypnosis community to my computer screen…I have had equal access to the minds, thoughts and practices of some of the world’s leading hypnosis practitioners. HypnoThoughts.com allows a diverse range of opinion-sharing that has assisted me in solving the client challenges that come up from time to time."

"I created HypnoThoughts.com to connect hypnosis professionals and aficionados from all over the world," said founder Scott Sandland, "and I couldn't be more proud of the global community that has come together on the site." Sandland, who operates a private hypnotherapy practice in Newport Beach, California, is a certified medical and dental hypnotherapist with special training in pain management and addiction recovery.

When expert hypnotherapist Melissa Roth and I first started talking about online hypnosis education last year, we had no idea if it work even work.

Would hypnosis professionals be interested in an online hypnosis convention? Would Melissa be able to attract top speakers and educators in hypnosis, NLP, EFT, marketing, and business skills? Would I be able to find (or build) a totally virtual "convention center"? Would we be able to get the word out about this first-time event? What would the hypnosis organizations think? Would they support our efforts?

I am very happy to say that HypnoSummit 1.0 (which we called the Global Hypnosis eSummit) was a huge success. We had over 50 experts line up to speak. Melissa signed up experts in hypnosis for pain control, weight loss, phobias, addiction recovery, sports performance, PTSD, body contouring, "youthing," health improvement and so much more. We were even honored to host New York Times bestselling author Dr. Bernie Siegel, author of Love, Medicine and Miracles.

And after a lot of very long days (and sleepless nights) working with out tech team, I was able to build a virtual convention center where hypnosis pros from 18 countries came together to learn and interact. And we were excited that several of the top hypnosis and hypnotherapy organizations recognized the quality of the Global Hypnosis eSummit and offered their members continuing education credits for attending.

HypnoSummit 1.0 was far more successful than Melissa and I had ever hoped for, and we had hundreds of virtual attendees from 18 countries. It truly was a global event.

Now HypnoSummit 2.0 is coming together. We have some even BIGGER names lined up to teach hypnosis, EFT, NLP, marketing, and more, all aimed at bringing greater professionalism and success to hypnotists worldwide. Our "virtual convention center" has been remodeled with a new look, and even better, new technology that makes it easier to use. We have a marketing and PR pro on board to help spread the word.

What we don't have yet is you. I hope you'll join us at HypnoSummit 2.0. Registration will open in about a week at HypnoSummit.com. And if you register before September 1st, you'll get a big early bird discount.

If you want to keep up with the latest HypnoSummit 2.0 developments and news, join www.HypnoThoughts.com, the free hypnosis social network, and follow me on Twitter.

Over 99 Hours Of Hypnotherapy, Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming Education Offered Via Streaming Video at www.HypnoSummit.com March 13 -15, 2009

The Global Hypnosis eSummit—the first ever “online virtual hypnosis convention”—will be streamed live at www.HypnoSummit.com from March 13 – 15, 2009. The registration fee of $129 per person includes nearly 100 hours of lectures and demonstrations of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), hypnosis theory and clinical practice, and business development sessions for hypnotherapists and hypnotists. And like any trade show, the Global Hypnosis eSummit will also feature trade show booths and networking opportunities. Registrations will be accepted online at www.HypnoSummit.com through March 15th, and presentations will be available for viewing for the two weeks following the Global Hypnosis eSummit.

Educational presentations will qualify for continuing education credits for members of the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association, the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, the American Board of Hypnotherapy and the Society of Experiential Trance.

Over 50 experts will present on topics as diverse as hypnosis for sales and sports performance, pain management techniques, effective hypnosis treatments for anxiety, phobias and allergies, managing a successful hypnosis practice, and even tips for safely presenting hypnosis stage shows. Perhaps the most notable speaker is Bernie Siegel, M.D., the bestselling author of the book Love, Medicine and Miracles, who will discuss the power of words to harm and to heal. His presentation, “Consciousness: Mind Body Communication,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 14th at 10:00 a.m. PST.

“Much of the training is aimed at the professional hypnotherapist,” notes eSummit organizer Scott Sandland. “But if you’re just curious about hypnosis, and wonder what it’s all about, you’ll still find a lot of value in the education and trade show aspects of the Global Hypnosis eSummit.” Sandland, a certified hypnotherapist, operates Goal Oriented Hypnotherapy in Newport Beach, California. He is also the founder of HypnoThoughts.com, a free social networking Web site for hypnotherapists, hypnotists and enthusiasts.

Hypnosis is generally recognized by the medical community as an effective treatment for addictions, phobias, and pain relief—“even though there is still some disagreement about how and why hypnosis works,” says Sandland. Hypnotherapy has also proven useful in eliminating self-destructive compulsions like smoking and overeating.

“Hypnosis is a very normal state of mind and body. If you’ve ever zoned out when you were driving—and arrived at your destination without knowing how you got there—you were essentially experiencing a hypnotic state. It’s the same thing athletes experience when they’re ‘in the zone,’" says Sandland. "It’s a very efficient, very effective state of mind, that allows you to reach your goals faster and more easily. As hypnotherapists, we help people arrive at that very focused state on purpose, for a specific reason.”
