When we're tensed, the tension that takes place in our body comes in a certain pattern. for example when I sit at the computer - I might tighten my shoulders, and at the same time contract my neck, pushing it in between the shoulders, while my head falls back and down. The Alexander Technique looks at these patterns. With the Alexander method we learn how not to fall into such patterns, how not to produce unnecessary tension, and how not to tighten even at the critical moment when we're about to start typing, bending, walking, or any other movement. To experience the Alexander work - feel free to check about Shula's class in the National Holistic Institute. The class will start on Wed. November 4th at 7:00 pm.
