Bio of Dr. Matthew Cavaiola
Dr. Cavaiola is a licensed naturopathic
medical doctor in the state of Arizona. He is licensed as a general
family practitioner and specializes in Men's Health, Pain Management,
Cardiovascular health, Cancer and Environmental Medicine.
Dr. Cavaiola’s primary areas of interest at
East Valley Naturopathic Doctors are the natural treatment of men’s health
issues and natural pain management. Dr.
Cavaiola is passionate about using Bioidentical Testosterone Replacement
Therapy to boost testosterone levels, which often decline with age, and to
improve mood, motivation, focus, energy and libido. He also provides a
naturopathic approach in performing Men's Wellness Exams and takes the time to
address all of his patients’ concerns and provides guidance on specific health
problems.
Dr. Cavaiola also focuses on both acute and
chronic pain conditions like Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis, low back
and knee pain and headaches. Many pain
conditions respond very well to naturopathic treatments for pain including nutritional
supplementation, acupuncture and prolotherapy.
Dr. Cavaiola utilizes a wide variety of
laboratory tests, including specialized tests like IgG Food Intolerance
Testing, Heavy Metal and other Enviormental Exposure tests and Neurotransmitter
Testing, to determine the underlying cause of many disease and pain
syndromes. He also utilizes specialized
cardiovascular risk assessment tools like Lipoprotein
Particle Profile (LPP+) and Carotid Intimal Media
Thickness (CIMT) testing as part of East Valley Naturopathic Doctors’ Cardiovascular
and Stroke Risk Assessment Program to determine
risk of cardiovascular disease and the likelihood of experiencing a heart
attack or stroke.
Dr. Cavaiola is pleased to join the East
Valley Cancer Center where he will work with those with Cancer to support them
as they go through the process of chemotherapy and radiation to help maximize
their treatment response. Dr. Cavaiola
has been trained in alternative treatments for Cancer including, Vitamin C IV
Therapy, Ozone Therapy, and Chelation Therapy.
Dr. Cavaiola is a graduate of Southwest
College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona, where he completed more
than 1100 hours of clinical training. Dr. Cavaiola has specifically devoted
over 1000 additional hours of clinical and didactic training in Traditional
Chinese Medicine (TCM) while studying both at SCNM and at the Phoenix Institute
of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. Dr. Cavaiola also obtained a
Masters of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Delaware
where his special interest was assessing body composition through the use of
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry
(DEXA). He also obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Biological
Sciences from the University of Delaware.
