In the January 9th Wall St Journal an article was published by four integrative health care leaders, Deepak Chopra, Dean Ornish, Rustum Roy, and Andrew Weil. They spoke to President-elect Obama about how integrative medicine can be the solution to high medical costs, inadequate insurance coverage, and healing and diseases without side effects.
They cited research that found natural lifestyles, foods, yoga, meditation etc. are healing and preventing heart disease, age reversal, cancers, diabetes, cholesterol and many more conditions. $2.1 trillion was spent on US medical care in 2007 (16.5% of the gross national product. And many procedures, such as bypass surgery are dangerous, expensive, and largely ineffective.
